What Is Trigeminal Neuralgia Condition?
Trigeminal Neuralgia (also called tic douloureux) is a condition that causes sudden burning or shock-like facial pain (which is intermittent) that lasts anywhere from a few seconds- minutes per episode. The pain is due to abnormal firing in the 5th cranial nerve (the trigeminal nerve).

Treatment Options
The first line of treatment is medical (using medications). If that fails, then there are surgical options. The option that is likely to have the best pain relief patient for the long run is called Microvascular Decompression (MVD).
